We are excited to have you joining us on our program in Texas! Volunteers are responsible for getting to and from the program on their own. Please be sure to factor in costs when planning your journey. You will find more information about how to travel to the program by reading the information on this page.
For security reasons, we do not disclose the exact location of our base on this website. However, once you’ve applied and have been accepted, you’ll receive a detailed step-by-step guide on everything you need to know to plan your journey. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
While planning your journey please make sure you familiarize yourself with visa and entry requirements. As visa regulations vary depending on nationality, and are subject to frequent change, All Hands and Hearts can not offer guidance. We strongly recommend speaking with your local embassy or looking at your government's website for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Our Texas Flood Relief program has committed to the area through August 31st, 2025. Our base is located in Kerrville, Texas.
Our base location is accessible by Uber, taxi or public transportation from the San Antonio Airport.
We welcome volunteer to join us on Tuesdays through Saturdays, and you must arrive on base no later than 6:00pm. Please plan accordingly. Remember to take travel time from the airport to base into account when booking your flight.
Once you are invited to join our program in Texas and all your invitation forms have been completed, we will share the base address with you.
We recommend you fly into San Antonio International Airport which is located approximately 50 mins by car from the base. Uber or Lyft will cost approximately $70 from the airport to base.
Austin (AUS) is the next closest airport at 2 hours away.
There is a parking area available for personal cars on our current base, however we are unsure if we will have parking availability at our new base. Please reach out to the Volunteer Relations Coordinator at texasfloodvolunteers@allhandsandhearts.org to confirm if there is space.
Shopping is best done at home, so please come prepared. There may be limited access to stores and supplies in the affected area.
Be prepared for any clothing you wear on the work site to get ruined and dirty. Proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a requirement for volunteers.
