Shopping is best done at home, so please come prepared.
Be prepared for any clothing you wear on the work site to get ruined and dirty. Proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a requirement for volunteers to wear.
Please pack light - think about what is needed vs. wanted; space on base is tight, and the environmental impact of items left behind after programs is a serious issue in local communities.

All international travelers will need a passport to enter Poland
Work Boots: These should be sturdy work boots or hiking boots, they must be closed-toe. Puncture-proof soles and steel-toe boots are recommended (no Converse or running shoes allowed on site)
Photo ID
Work clothes. We provide short-sleeved work shirts but you should bring pants to work in
Water bottle
Unlocked Cell Phone - if you plan to purchase a Polish SIM card
Normal clothes for after work and days off - expect cold weather in fall/winter
Lightweight waterproof rain jacket
Plug Type C and/or E Adapter
Tupperware box for lunch (important!)
Personal cash and ATM/credit card
Personal items, toiletries, towel
House shoes - house slippers only inside the house.
Shower shoes/flip flops
Personal first aid kit including any medication, e.g. paracetamol, oral rehydration salts, antidiarrheals, etc. We are unable to provide any medication
Vitamins, food supplements, comfort food - highly advised to bring any supplements that you regularly take at home, or any food that will make you feel more at home.
Coffee/Tea Mug (sometimes all mugs are in use)
Seat Cushions (for extra seating)
Earplugs and sleep mask
Anything else to make your bunk bed homie (lights, pictures, decorations, pillows)
Sharpie (for marking your belongings)
Battery pack
Lots of socks (these tend to disappear in a communal living environment)
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (such as: safety glasses, 3M P-100 respirators with pancake filters, ear protection, and gloves.) We will provide this equipment, but we encourage volunteers to bring their own when possible.
Please keep in mind that you will be sharing a room with other volunteers, so space for baggage is limited. Your backpack or suitcase must be able to fit underneath your bed.
