BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Location: Pasco County, Florida. We recommend you fly to Tampa International Airport. You will receive the exact address once you are accepted to join the program. Find out more about the local area here, and find more details about how to get there here.
Cost: Volunteering with All Hands and Hearts is free. We provide accommodation for the duration of your stay and meals on workdays. Keep in mind you will be responsible for the cost of your background check, travel both to and from the program, meals on your day(s) off, and any costs associated with taking a three-day mental health break each month where you are required to stay away from the program.
Work Days: Monday through Friday. Find out more about the type of work you'll do here.
Days Off: Saturday and Sunday. Find out more about our schedule here.
Arrival Days: Sunday - Friday.
Accommodation: The base is a co-ed bunk dorm room with common areas for eating and relaxing. We will provide air mattresses for volunteers, but they need to bring their bedding, such as a blanket, sheets, and a pillow. We might have some blankets available, but this can not be guaranteed. Find more detailed information and pictures of our accommodation here.
Meals: Typical meals will be make-your-own breakfast and lunch, with supplies provided (i.e. oats, eggs, lunch meat, bread, etc.) and a warm dinner typically prepared by staff and volunteers.
WiFi: We provide a wifi on the base; however, we still recommend that volunteers come prepared with a data plan.
Access: Shops, restaurants, and ATMs are all open in the area. Most of them are about a 10-minute drive from our base.
