As the base is located in a remote area, you can find ATMs, coffee shops, laundry, stores, restaurants, and hotels in the city town of San Pedro Pochutla, 30-40 mins by local bus.
Huatulco and Puerto Escondido are the biggest nearby cities, but there are the closest towns, such as Pochutla. Puerto Angel, Mazunte, Zipopolite, and San Agustinillo are beach communities located in the area and can be reached via taxi or colectivo/bus.
If you want to buy almost anything in Mexico, we recommend the department store COPPEL. You can find anything; if they don't, you may order online and pick it up in the store. They have a Coppel store in Pochutla town (30 mins from the base).
Work boots: Try Coppel, or there are some little stores in Pochutla Town where you can find hike and work boots.
