WEEKLY SCHEDUlE

The schedule below will be our regular weekly schedule run for the duration of the program, excluding scheduled breaks and national holidays.

Sunday to Friday AM - Workdays

Friday afternoon and Saturday - Time off to rest and explore

We are only able to receive volunteers on Mondays and Wednesdays until 5:00 PM. We are not able to accommodate arrivals on other days.

Please make sure to plan your arrival accordingly. After you arrive on the program, you will receive a base tour and review our code of conduct one more time. You will most likely start working on the site in the afternoon or the next working day.

DAILY SCHEDUlE

We will be starting our days early! Breakfast will be available from 6 AM and we will be leaving for the site at 7:00 AM. Lunch typically starts at 12 PM and then the work will continue between 1 and 4 PM. We will also factor in some 10-15 minute water breaks throughout the day to make sure everyone stays hydrated and gets some rest.

Each day in the evening, we will have a mandatory meeting and after that, dinner will be served. Every All Hands and Hearts base has a curfew and quiet hours in place to ensure we all get enough rest before the next working day. Please remember that these are non-negotiable and apply both to staff and volunteers. We are taking our work very seriously so we expect that you will understand and help us make this program a successful one!

Daily Schedule (Sunday-Friday)

6:00 am: Eat breakfast, wash your dishes, and get ready!

6:45 am: Leave for work

7:00 am: Work begins on-site

12:00 pm: Lunch

1:00-4:00 pm: Work and clean up

5:00 pm: Evening meeting

6:00 pm: Dinner

8:00 pm: Curfew! All volunteers and staff must be on base.

9:00 pm: Lights out & quiet hours

isOn these days you will be given a day off of work. We will not be scheduling arrivals on these days to allow for all staff to receive a day off as well. Please note, that you are welcome to stay on base for these holidays.

25 December ( Wed ): Christmas Day
1 January ( Wed ): New Year's Day
14 January ( Tue ): Maghi
26 February ( Wed ): Maha Shivaratri
13-Mar / 14-Mar ( Thu / Fri ): Holi - Festival ( no new arrivals during this week )
14 April ( Mon ): Nepali New Year
1 May ( Thu ): International Workers Day

*On March 13 and 14, Nepal will celebrate one of its major holidays - Holi - the festival of colors. If you’re joining our program during this time you will have the opportunity to participate in the exciting celebrations that take place in Kathmandu and other bigger cities such as Pokhara as we will be taking a time off.

In observance of Holi, we’ll close the base and travel to Kathmandu or Pokhara - depending on people's preferences, to participate in the festival. The trip will start on Thursday, March 13th with the return on Saturday, March 15th. Everyone will resume work on Sunday, March 16th. Please see the updated work schedule below:

During your time in Kathmandu or Pokhara, volunteers will be responsible for arranging their accommodation. Many volunteers choose to share accommodation and celebrate the festival together. To connect with volunteers past and present, join the Nepal group in our Alumni Network.

LENGTH OF THE PROGRAM

We anticipate that the program will run from December 16th until April 25th. This is a subject to be changed, and there is a possibility of extending if there is a need and if we have enough resources and financial capacity. Please support us in ensuring that we can run the program sustainably by setting up a personal fundraising page and reaching out to your friends and family, asking for donations, and advocating for our work.
