The vision for the Allen and Dieruff Summerbridge Program/Freshman Leadership Retreat is a holistic approach to support incoming 9th graders to start their high school journey equipped with tools for success. Students will be introduced to the rich legacy of their high school, learn about the rigor expected in high school for Math/ELA/Literature, navigate the building through an interactive scavenger hunt, participate in restorative circles to reflect and goal set, among many more engaging activities. Upon the conclusion of the retreat, students will know how to navigate the building, expectations of a high school student, have a 30-day entry plan, connections with new and old friends, as well as new teachers, and utilize socioemotional learning tools to develop their leadership capacity.
