Introduction to Clay at William

Allen

July 5, 6, 7,

10:00am - 2:00pm

In this 3 day workshop, students will learn basic hand-building techniques for working with clay! Students will be able to create a few ceramic pieces of their choice, either sculptural or functional (mug, cup, bowl, etc.). Because the ceramic pieces need to be fired in the kiln, students will either pick a color for their piece to be glazed for them to pick up at a later date, or they can schedule a time to come glaze the piece themselves once they have been fired!

This will be a three day program focusing on acrylic and watercolor painting. Students will learn / review the basics of these mediums and create at least two original paintings.

A variety of techniques will can be used to create your design in this experience. Participants will find inspiration by visiting many locations within walking distance of our art studio. Summer Baseball Camp at William Allen

Providing summer baseball opportunities for students at the high school level where students can develop self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal skills (SEL) through physical activities, but also use baseball driven analytics to tie into a math type curriculum. We would look to do this from 10-12am, in between the middle school and elementary time slots currently scheduled by Toomey Anderson.

The Science of Sports at B21

How do athletes run faster, jump higher, throw harder, and stay stronger? Science! In this 2-week camp, students will learn about the science of sports by creating their own scientific investigations and sharing their findings in a science fair! Students will interact with athletes, sports medicine practitioners, and research scientists as they become sports scientists!

Students will experience an introduction to pottery through hand building with clay. You will be given the opportunity to produce mugs, bowls, ornaments, and figurines, to name a few. A bag of clay is yours to use for the week’s creations which will be glazed by the instructor when class is over. While constructing your pieces and learning about the process, you will learn some Geometry and Chemistry tidbits too!

Students may take this camp more than once!

Advanced Skill, Strength, and Conditioning Soccer under the Stadium Lights Enrichment Program at JBC Stadium

The ASD Advanced Soccer Clinic seeks to improve individual soccer techniques and provide a general understanding of the game to youth under the experience of Professional and Collegiate players, along with High School and Collegiate coaches. This program will give student-athletes a safe place to participate in the worlds most popular game under the stadium lights on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-8pm throughout the summer months.

Track and Field Clinic at JBC Stadium

Students will learn and practice the proper running and throwing techniques necessary to be successful in Track and Field. Students will be timed and measured in order to establish goals and improve performance. Sessions will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
