Understanding their technology:

Most students have grown up with computing technologies; instant messages, cell phones, the Internet are all norms to them. These can be powerful tools to locate information and a means to express themselves through personalized profiles. As a parent you may feel that your knowledge is limited on the emerging tools our students have access to and are using. All parents need to be aware of how, and for what reasons their student is using these tools.

That is why it is important as a parent to learn as much as you can about the technology your student is using. In order to protect them, we must try to understand the technology they use.
