Dr. Emberton, Media Specialist

The librarian:

Dr. Jennifer Emberton is a graduate from Western Kentucky University and Morehead State University. After her oldest son started school, his bilateral hearing loss deterred him from learning opportunities. Through this struggle, Dr. Emberton gave up her previous training to focus on learning more about helping her son. In 2012, teaching became her drive after graduating with a bachelor's degree in Middle Grades education; followed two years later by a masters degree in Library Media with an additional certification in Educational Technology. As her son graduated from high school, she finished her EdD in hopes of helping others with workforce readiness in our community.

"I am a diverse teacher. Coming from a low socioeconomic background, I've experienced struggle first hand. Also, I have witnessed others, & experienced myself, breaking free from this cycle. I believe students can do this too, with adequate resources & role models."
