About this Course: The purpose of this module is to help teachers begin or expand their use of number sense routines. The routines described in this module are among the most popular routines commonly used as warm-ups in today’s mathematics classrooms. Included in this module are videos of teachers’ testimonials describing the impact number sense routines have had on their students’ thinking and learning. In addition to completing this module for 3 PD credit hours, there are two extended learning opportunities for additional PD credit: Digging Deeper into Number Talks with author Sherry Parrish (EdPuzzle), 2.5 PD credit hours, and Putting It Into Practice (planning and implementing a number sense routine), 4 PD credit hours.

Learning Intentions/Targets: I am learning the what, why and how of number sense routines.

I will know I am successful when I can describe each routine, explain the purpose of the routines, and how to implement the routines.
