About this Course: We’ll begin with a refresher of Kentucky’s Gifted and Talented regulation, including Primary Talent Pool and some insights into giftedness. Next, we’ll take a look at a variety of differentiation strategies for use in the classroom including curriculum compacting, independent studies, tiered assignments, student choice menus, and more.


Learning Intentions/Targets:

  • Participants will know the five (5) areas of giftedness identified in the state of Kentucky and the basic characteristics of each category.

  • Participants will gain empathy and new insights into giftedness by listening to the thoughts and feelings of gifted students.

  • Participants will learn practical and relatively simple differentiation strategies they can put into practice in their classroom instruction.
