Mr. Dallas' Class

Social Studies

Hello, my name is Mr. Dallas. I teach Social Studies at Alice Costello Elementary School. I am in my 4th year teaching U.S. and World History to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. You will find all pertinent information for my class on this website!

IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATION

I will be using Google Classroom to communicate upcoming assignments and tests. Please check Google Classroom for updates as per assignment/test information. At the beginning of the year, I asked for a parent/guardian email address to add you to my Google Classroom page. If you did not get the link or want to add a new email address, just shoot me an email and let me know. (sdallas@alicecostello.com)

Class Needs

Pen or Pencil. A folder or binder to hold handouts. Notebook, preferably not shared with another class.

Classroom Expectations

I expect students to come to class prepared with a pen/pencil, a notebook and a folder for handouts. 15% of your grade is earned by actively participating in class. We will have a lot of classroom discussions and students will have opportunities to show their understanding of material that is covered in class. Classroom participation points must be earned by doing assigned classwork, adding to discussions, being on task and working well with classmates.

Grading Policy

Policy: My grading policy is as follows:

Tests--40% Tests, Projects, Writing, & Portfolios

Quizzes--30%

Classwork and Participation--15%

Homework--15%
