For your GCSE you have to carry out two fieldwork enquiries.
You have to study both human and physical environments and the interactions between the two (such as how humans manage the physical environment).
Your paper 3 exam will have questions directly related to the fieldwork you have completed.
If you are not able to directly complete the fieldwork, data is supplied to enable you to understand the key ideas.
Use the links below to jump to each fieldwork enquiry.
There will be a powerpoint, a booklet to complete and some fieldwork data.
By the end of the physical fieldwork enquiry you will be able to answer the following:
In what direction does longshore drift move material at Sheringham?
You need to understand the following aspects and may be asked about them in paper 3:
What makes our key question suitable to study?
Why have we chosen to Sheringham to complete our fieldwork?
What risks are involved with the fieldwork and how can we minimise these?
Describe, explain and justify the two data collection methods being used at Sheringham
Present our data and evaluate the approaches used
Analyse our data (describe, explain and identify anomalies)
Draw valid conclusions based on the data
Evaluate the fieldwork process (including problems encountered during data collection and how these have impacted the overall conclusion)
Resources
