A table can help to organise your information and make it easy to see.
A table is also a really good idea if there are a group of you working on the same doc and you do not want to any confusion about who is typing where on the doc.

Right click OR two-finger tap your trackpad within the table.
Choose from the list:
When your cursor is inside a cell (or if you highlight several cells) you can use the paint bucket to fill the background. This is a great idea for your heading row!
