Alexander Trojans Softball

This group of seniors is the first group of players that I have worked with for the entirety of their scholastic softball career. During their time in the program, they have seen many changes, and have been a crucial part of creating a new standard for the current and future members of our program. It is beyond sad to see their senior season derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing protocol. My heart breaks for these seniors when I think of the loss that this group of is experiencing.

This group of seniors has been such a pleasure to work with for the past six seasons and will leave many memories and smiles on the hearts and minds of their teammates and coaches. From Taylor's ability to keep the team upbeat and smiling, to Emily's ability to bring energy to our practices and games, to Kayla's consistent presence no matter the circumstance to Sydney's leadership and example of what it means to be a team first player. Younger members of our program will have seen these seniors in action and take what they've seen and add to their own abilities which in turn will make our program stronger for years to come.

I know that this gets said often at the start of every team's season, but I truly believe that our group had a chance to make a sectional run and capture our program's first Section V title since 2004. With the leadership and steady presence this group of seniors would have provided and the talented underclassmen we have what it takes to be sectional champs.

Looking on to the future of these young ladies, I know that they will be very successful in anything that they choose to do, because of the determination, intensity, compassion, and team first mentality that they have shown here as a member of our softball program.

Ladies, please accept my sincere congratulations on excellent softball careers. It has been an honor to have you call me "coach." Please be sure to return in the future to catch a game and tell me about what is going on in your own lives, as well as see how the program continues to grow because of the work you put in to it.

Sincerely,

Coach Prong
