Cambium will host and manage the testing platform for all assessments and manage the registration, administration, scoring, and reporting for the entire assessment portfolio. Cambium has delivered more than 60 million online tests in a single school year and currently serves 28 states and territories, as well as the College Board. Pearson will be responsible for item development and test form construction. Pearson has supported Texas assessments for 40 years and will be a valuable resource in developing items that strongly align to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Cambium Includes:
Texas Assessment site - with a dedicated page to Testing Personnel that will house access to all new systems and resources.
Learning Management System (LMS), for accessing online trainings.
STAAR Online Testing Enhancements
With the Cambium testing platform known as the Test Delivery System (TDS), students will have both Desmos and Texas Instruments graphing calculators as embedded calculators to use for the online STAAR grade 8 mathematics and Algebra I EOC assessments.
Additionally, districts can select two distinct levels of support for online oral administrations. The online embedded text-to-speech (TTS) tool allows an eligible student to have either of the following support options:
Selecting any eligible test question and answer choice to be read aloud using the text-to-speech tool (TTS), or
Having all eligible parts of the test be automatically read aloud in the order they are presented using the auto-text-to-speech tool (ATTS).
