Pastor’s Note

Newer and Brighter Beginning

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”   2 Corinthians 5:17

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

As we approach the final week of August, we are diligently preparing for a fresh start for our students, educators, parents, ministry leaders, and stakeholders. Paul's message reminds us of God's promise of a rejuvenated and luminous beginning.

The metaphor of faith concerning endings and beginnings is a fundamental theme in the Bible, exemplified in Genesis 1:1 - "In the beginning when God created the heavens and earth," and the promise in Revelation 22:20: "The one who testifies to these things says [Jesus], 'Surely I am coming soon.' Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!" This profound symbolism reminds believers of God's boundless mercy, unending forgiveness, and steadfast love.

After serving as your Pastor at Aldersgate for a month and three weeks, I invite you to a special gathering to discuss matters of faith. In our Fellowship Hall, you'll find a round table marked "Coffee with the Pastor," where I would be honored to have you join me for an open and meaningful conversation. This event will take place on Wednesdays from 1 pm to 3 pm. Our discussions during these meetings will also help shape our fall 2024 through 2025 study plans.

I look forward to engaging in thoughtful and enriching conversations with you.

Be on the lookout for upcoming fall class registration opportunities. We also invite you to join our Discipleship Ministry, a platform where you can engage in faith-based study groups at various levels, from introductory to advanced, and get involved in support groups and related activities. If there are specific support or study groups that you would be interested in leading once or twice a year, we provide full support and guidance to help you make a valuable contribution to our Discipleship Ministry.

As we prepare to bid farewell to the waning warmth of summer and eagerly await the magnificent vibrant colors of autumn, we also gaze towards the beginning of the Academic Year 2024-25. Let us warmly embrace the profound beauty of transitions and endeavor to embark upon new, purposeful beginnings in our personal lives, professional endeavors, and interpersonal connections.

In Christ,

Rev. Mele Taumoepeau Aho

your pastor
