National event in Greece

On February 26, 2024, KMOP hosted a multiplier event titled "Promoting the Active Citizenship of Youth Through Diplomacy" in Athens, Greece. The event was part of the Pacify-D (Promoting the Active Citizenship of Youth through Diplomacy) project and gathered 15 participants, youth workers, trainers from CSO’s in Greece that are working closely on the topics of active citizenship and youth empowerment. 

The event began with an introduction to the Pacify-D project, highlighting its goals and the significance of active youth participation in diplomacy. This was followed by a detailed presentation of the training materials developed for both young individuals and professionals, focusing on enhancing their understanding of diplomacy and intercultural dialogue. 

Participants were then introduced to the guide for developing Country Info Points, which aims to promote diplomacy and cultural exchanges. The presentation emphasized the importance of these Info Points in facilitating international relations and fostering a global mindset among youth. The policy handbook and best practices session provided valuable insights into the effective implementation and management of Country Info Points. This segment showcased successful examples and strategies that can be replicated in different contexts as well as policy recommendations.The final session focused on the practical steps and experiences in establishing Country Info Points in Greece. This included a discussion on the challenges and successes encountered during the process. The session concluded with a networking opportunity, allowing participants to connect and explore potential collaborations. 

The multiplier event successfully highlighted the key components of the Pacify-D project, providing participants with valuable resources and knowledge to promote active citizenship and diplomacy among youth. KMOP's commitment to fostering youth engagement and intercultural understanding was evident throughout the event. The discussions and networking sessions paved the way for future initiatives and collaborations aimed at enhancing youth participation in international diplomacy. Participants highlighted the training material and the guide presented as particularly interesting and valuable. Additionally, the collaboration with the municipality was noted as an exemplary model of partnership, demonstrating effective cooperation and support in promoting active citizenship and youth empowerment.
