In Spanish culture it is common to greet each other with a kiss on the cheek. How many times you kiss on the cheeks depends on the country. Men will often greet each other with a quick handshake hug.

The common greeting in Costa Rica when you see someone you know on the street is not "Hola" but rather "Pura Vida." This is the country slogan, wishing each other pure life, free from impurities and full of real life and everything natural that mother nature has to offer.
