BNZ-Leaders in Training 2023

In summer of 2023, we ran our first Bonanza Creek Leaders in Training (BNZ-LIT) camp. We participated in many activities; here are some of them...

We went to Bonanza Creek and learned about different types of wetlands. When we got back we designed an activity for the Bonanza Creek Campers

Coming up with "quiz" questions was really hard!

We learned job skills like how to write a resumé and cover letter.

We explored our values as future leaders.

We helped each other evaluate our strengths and weaknesses as leaders.

Good thing we knew each other well from years of Bonanza Creek and Denali camps!

We checked out the insects and other small critters in water samples collected in the field.

What IS that floating in the the bog water?

Microscopes are so much fun!

We met with UAF staff like John Smelter to learn more about what it's like to apply to college

We did a career assessment to find out what might be right for us

We played a lot of games!

During Bonanza Creek camp we became Junior Counselors. We led tours to different types of wetlands....

We got to try out our wetlands "quiz"... well, maybe not a conventional quiz...

Many thanks to our program leaders: Joel, Christa, Emily, Katie R., and Climate Scholar Katherine.
