Argos FAQ

Argos is a powerful dashboard and reporting solution designed for both novice and expert. It is easy to use and it provides accurate data to help deliver the insights you need to make better decisions. 

If you are managing grants for principal investigators at the university, you can get access to Argos. The easiest way to get access at this time is by contacting your campus security administrator or submitting a Banner access request form. 

There are two types of accesses you may need: 

1. Banner Finance query access to see all finance data in Argos. All users will be given this access.

2. Banner HR general query access to see personnel finance details. Users that are approved to see HR personnel information will be given this access.

OLAP stands for online analytical processing. OLAP cubes allow you to drag and drop dimensions, then filter, group, and sort the data to get the information you need quickly and easily. They have sometimes been called "a million spreadsheets in a box" because of how easily they can be rearranged to convey completely different information.
