Students new to the program OR students who did not take classes the previous semester must complete the following:
Dual Credit Admission Application (1), NMSU-A Dual Credit Agreement of Understanding (2), and the Dual Credit Request Form (3),
Meet with your HS Counselor for approval.
Once forms are signed and approved by the high school counselor, take the packet to NMSU-A Admissions in the NMSU-A Student Services Building.

STUDENT ACCOUNT MUST BE SET UP (MyNMSU & Canvas)
New students must create a MyNMSU and Canvas account. MyNMSU is a records account that includes a student email. Canvas is the Learning Platform that gives access to classes.

Please note that all applications begin with your High School Counselor. You must meet with them before you go to the college.
If you are interested in continuing to take Dual Credit classes with NMSUA there are a few important steps you will want to take.
1.) Please make sure to complete the English and/or Math placement test to qualify for our "G" level courses. (The Math test is only required if you want to take a Math or Science class ). You can call the Testing Center at 575-439-3853 to schedule your appointment. (You may also use SAT or ACT scores to qualify for classes.)
2.) Review the student schedule to see which classes you might be interested in enrolling in for the Spring 2023 semester.
3.) Meet with your High School Counselor to have them assist in completing the required Dual Credit Paperwork, which is: Dual Credit Request Form, Dual Credit Agreement of Understanding, and updated transcripts. (All forms must be COMPLETE and Signed by all required parties.)
4.) Submit documents to the NMSUA Student Services Office. Along with the required Dual Credit paperwork, you will also want to submit your placement test/SAT/ACT scores.
5.) Receive Confirmation email from NMSU that you have been registered! Take that Confirmation to your counselor.
Student who are interested in taking Science courses with us will need to have completed a Math placement test to ensure they have the Math skills needed to succeed.
Math placement tests are available by appointment and cost $3.00. Please pay at the business and finance department.
Testing Center Monday - Friday from 9am - 4pm. Students need to have a photo ID and their Aggie ID number to take the test.
Please make sure to review the attached Math Placement study guide in order to prepare for the test. You may also want to review sites like KhanAcademy.org and focus on Algebra to better prepare for the test.
The scores of the test will be instant, but you will need to talk to a Math Advisor to get properly place. (They are located in the Testing Center.)
COVID POSITIVE CASES
If a Dual Credit /Early College student tests positive, then they would have to report their positive case through the online portal ASAP.
