Prof. Chang Hyung Hong and Sang Joon Son are clinical mentors. Prof. Hong leads the Bio-Digital Convergence Research Institute, and Prof. Son collaborates on research related to brain aging, neuroimaging, patient-derived cell model, and AI-based approaches. Prof. Eun Young Kim is Roh's PhD advisor and provides translational research mentorship, continuing collaborative studies on circadian rhythm using patient-derived cellular models.

Sunwoo Yoon
Sunwoo Yoon received a B.S. in bioengineering from CHA University and joined our lab in September 2022 as the first Ph.D. student in the integrated master-doctoral program. His initial project focused on oxidative stress responses in fibroblasts derived from AD patients, leading to a study on the functional role of Pfkfb3, which is currently under review. He is now expanding his work to iPSC-based models, investigating vascular neurodegeneration using iPSC-derived endothelial cells and exploring senescence features in directly converted neurons from patient fibroblasts.
Homin Song
Homin Song received a B.S. in Bioengineering from CHA University and joined our lab in September 2024 as the second student in the integrated master’s–doctoral program. His research focuses on iPSC-derived microglia from Alzheimer’s disease patients and healthy controls, examining how these cells differentially respond to neuroinflammatory perturbations. Through single-cell RNA sequencing, he investigates distinct microglial signatures and their transcriptional dynamics, aiming to identify key pathways and potential therapeutic targets underlying exaggerated neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s disease.
Song-i Kim
Song-i Kim received both her B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from Keimyung University. She spent approximately 10 years working in the biotechnology industry before joining our lab as a Ph.D. student in March 2026. Building on her extensive industry experience, she is beginning her doctoral research on vascular neurodegeneration using patient iPSC-derived endothelial cells.
Seoyoung Jung
Seoyoung Jung received her B.S. in Biopharmaceutical and Medical Sciences from Sungshin Women’s University and joined our lab in March 2026 as a student in the integrated M.S.–Ph.D. program. She is interested in modeling neurodegenerative diseases using patient-derived iPSC systems and will begin her research on vascular neurodegeneration using iPSC-derived endothelial cells.

Yeojin Kim, MS
Yeojin Kim earned her B.S. in Food Science and Biotechnology from CHA University and joined our lab in 2022.9 as the first M.S. student. Her research focused on differential ER stress responses in Alzheimer’s disease patient–derived fibroblasts, identifying Dctn2 as a possible biomarker gene. After contributing to iPSC derived microglia differentiation optimization, she completed her degree in 2025.2 and now works as a research scientist at YiPSCELL, a stem cell–based biotechnology company.
Young Joon Cho, MS
Young Joon Cho earned his B.S. in Bioengineering from CHA University and joined our lab in March 2024 as the second master’s student. He completed his M.S. training in 2026.2, during which he established a patient-derived fibroblast senescence model and analyzed aging-related responses in mid-old fibroblasts (around passage 18) from healthy controls and Alzheimer’s disease patients. Using transcriptomic data, he applied machine learning models to classify patients and controls, and further extended his research toward drug repurposing based on gene expression signatures.

Yong Hyuk Cho, Sunhwa Hong, Youjin Nam, Sang Hyuk Lee, and Sehee Lee are members of the Bio-Digital Convergence Research Institute led by Prof. Chang Hyung Hong. Yong Hyuk Cho is a clinician and community psychiatry specialist actively engaged in digital therapeutics development and medical device research projects. Sunhwa Hong serves as an industry–academic cooperation professor and manages the overall operations of the institute. Youjin Nam, Sang Hyuk Lee, and Sehee Lee conduct experimental research while also contributing to Ajou university hospital projects for the research-driven hospital.

Jaewoo Hong
Jaewoo Hong is a medical student at Gachon University who joined our team as a visiting undergraduate in summer 2024. He worked on digital therapeutics and blood proteomic data analysis for Alzheimer’s disease biomarker discovery and plans to continue research during future breaks.
Yoon Sin Cho
Yoon Sin Cho is a medical student at Ajou University who joined our team as a visiting undergraduate in winter 2025. She is organizing candidate genes related to brain aging and senescence, with a particular focus on compiling insights from single-cell RNA-seq datasets.
Yeon Woo Lee
Yeon Woo Lee is a medical student at Ajou University who joined our team as a visiting undergraduate in winter 2025. She works on identifying candidate genes related to vascular neurodegeneration and contributes to iPSC-derived endothelial cell culture and stress experiment setup, while exploring transcriptome-based analysis pipelines.
