I am a Psychiatrist and Physician–Scientist who graduated from Ajou University School of Medicine and completed my psychiatry residency at Ajou University Hospital. After my residency training, I pursued a PhD course in the physician–scientist track, studying astrocyte biology and circadian rhythms under Prof. Eun Young Kim. My interests in circadian rhythm, aging, and neurodegenerative disorders were further shaped by the clinical mentorship of Prof. Sang Joon Son and Chang Hyung Hong, which inspired my current work on the links between patient-derived cell model and neurodegenerative disorders.
I try to guide graduate students with sincerity, hoping to support both their academic development and personal growth. My life and work are grounded in Christian values, and I place importance on generosity, humility, and love in the way I teach and collaborate.
Outside the lab, I enjoy tennis, classical music, and time with family. I play the piano for joy and admire pianist Yunchan Lim for his sincerity. I’m inspired by Endo Shusaku, who portrayed faith and forgiveness amid human frailty. Viktor Frankl’s writings helped me understand how meaning can emerge through suffering, and Katalin Kariko's book "Breaking Through" reminded me that perseverance in science can be an act of humility and hope.
