WAISAL Band a Huge Success in Abuja
Seventeen of our finest musicians from AISL travelled north to Abuja to participate in the 2nd Annual WAISAL Band consortium. They joined 62 students from all over West Africa to put together an amazing performance. Director Eric Taylor and Asst. Director Olayinka Onisiwo chaperoned our students as well as worked with them in their respective sections.
The participants spent all day Thursday and half of Friday preparing for the initial concert in front of the entire student body at AISA.
Saturday was another full day of rehearsal for the final performance in the late afternoon.

WAISAL Middle School Volleyball
WAISAL Middle School Volleyball
The time has come for AISL to host the WAISAL Middle School Volleyball tournament. Teams from the International School of Dakar, International Community School of Abidjan, Lincoln Community School, American School of Yaounde, and the American International School of Abuja will represent their cities in one of the biggest volleyball tournaments of the year. If you are in Lagos during the long weekend, check out the action on three courts; here’s the schedule.

The new session of After School Activities will begin on March 2, 2020. Descriptions, times and dates for the various activities will be out in the next newsletter. There will not be a showcase for the third session.

Third Session Competitive Sports
High School Soccer and Middle School Basketball will be our third sports sessions. Registration will be out next week. This year’s WAISAL for High School Soccer will be in Accra, Ghana. The dates of this event will be April 16 - 18, 2020. Middle School Basketball will be in Dakar, Senegal from April 23-26, 2020.

In our third session for Saturday Sports, baseball will be the sport. The idea is to acclimate our student body to the national pastime of the United States. Registration will be out in next week’s newsletter.
