Our alumni program has been running for the past three years and includes connecting with alumni in Lagos as well as all over the world. We organize career events, such as alumni breakfast panels and mentor mornings. We have alumni come in to play volleyball, basketball, softball and soccer against our students. We also connect with our alumni globally and have hosted events in Tacoma, Washington D.C., New York City and Houston.
This year we hosted another event at The Africa Center in New York City, and had a large turnout with over 70 people in attendance! Alumni ranging from the 1980s all the way to those who graduated less than 10 years ago represented our truly global community. Mr. Alfred Ohimain was the man of the hour as many of his students came especially to see their old teacher! We are fortunate to have our alumni spread far and wide across the world. The opportunities for collaboration and contribution to the school's mission via mentorships, internships, job placements, business networking opportunities and our most recent service learning program are the perfect ways for alumni to get involved and give back. The nostalgia for AISL is something that is difficult to replicate anywhere else in the international school community.
