Effective communication and collaboration often require navigating differences. In this workshop, high school students learned how to lead constructive conversations with their teachers using Fiona Reynolds' Three-Step Approach:
1. Standard: Establish a clear, shared expectation or an agreed-upon baseline.
2. Observation: State the specific, neutral facts of what occurred without judgment.
3. Question: Ask an open question to invite dialogue and foster understanding.
Why This Method Works:
1. Grounded in Agreement: It begins from a shared understanding instead of a defensive stance.
2. Facts Over Feelings: This approach maintains objectivity by focusing on observable behaviors rather than emotional reactions.
