How to build your academic workout plan
Find your starting point
Consider electives as good first advanced courses (especially AP Computer Science Principles or AP African American History). These typically have less homework and pressure.
Keep in mind that advanced courses in high school are more demanding than in junior high, and they increase in challenge every year.
Focus on getting organized and using your time well so you have a foundation for added academic challenges.
Research your goal
If you have a career path in mind, learn about what it takes to get there. Research careers and colleges to help set goals.

Add a little challenge every year, like weight on a bar. You should be a little sore when you work out; likewise, you should be a little scared about the schedule you choose. Don't overload yourself, but keep the challenge up. If you don't, you're not growing.
Remember that we do have a drop policy, where students can decide with their teacher to exit a course during the second six weeks and move to an on-level option.
