Student athletes who are in grades 6, 7 & 8 OR in Middle School MUST be supervised by an adult at ALL times.
SCIS membership is subject to each school providing the AD council chair with current School child protection policies, safeguarding guidelines, trip guidelines, and procedures. The safeguarding policies and procedures of each School will be kept by the AD Council Child Protection Office (CPO) and shall be updated when membership schools make any updates.
SCIS member schools shall provide the details of the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Director of the host school where there is currently no DSL (DHS). This list will be made available to all membership Athletic Directors for distribution to Tournament Directors.
In all cases, safeguarding incidents must:
Immediately notify the safeguarding contact of the school or schools involved.
The Safeguarding Incident Report Form (SIRF) form must be completed as soon as possible by the adult who is initially alerted to the incident. The form must then be submitted immediately to the Safeguarding contact of the schools involved. This may not mean the host school.
A copy of the SIRF should be provided to the SCIS CPO (currently ZIS ghart@zis.ch).
School Expectations:
Each School DSL officer has a copy of this SCIS Safeguarding section of the SCIS Handbook.
Each School DSL officer has a copy of the SCIS School list of DSL Officers and their contact information
Each School DSL officer has a copy of the SCIS SIDF Form
Your coaches and adult supervisors are briefed on safeguarding and understand the procedures they need to take when there is a disclosure.
