High School
Welcome to the AISB High School!
Counseling Services
In High School, we have two Counselors and one Counseling Assistant. Counselors at AISB are trained to provide short-term individual and group counseling to address mental, physical, and emotional concerns that may be impacting students’ learning and/or their well-being.
School counselors promote personal, interpersonal, emotional, academic and career development for all students through proactive classroom programs and other services.
If a student requires long-term counseling, counselors can assist with locating resources outside of school to support the student.
AISB counselors offer support and information to parents in a variety of ways: individual meetings, email, newsletter, parent forums, etc. Parents are encouraged to conference with their child’s counselor by phone, email or in person regarding any aspect of their child’s well-being while at AISB.
College and Career Planning
The Counseling Team at AISB provides information about colleges and universities, college entrance tests, scholarships, and financial aid.
Lessons are scheduled for all Grade 11 and 12 students, with emphasis on college process and transition.
A variety of parent meetings are sponsored and hosted by the counseling department.
School counselors meet yearly with students individually and in small groups to review, guide, and support them through the academic and college planning process
