Research in Pairs Initiative for PhD students

Open to South African PhD students registered at South African universities who are looking for a working environment conducive to effective research. The visit can be for PhD project supervision or collaborative work on a research paper/project within the mathematical sciences. Each PhD student is to be joined by either a supervisor or recommended international/local researcher and visits can be arranged for 2-4 weeks.

Application Process

  • Each applicant should provide a curriculum vitae including degrees and awards received, and a list of publications, as well as the research proposal.
  • Applicants must also arrange for two confidential reference letters from academics familiar with their research to be sent in support of their application. Referees should email reference letters directly to the AIMS South Africa Administrative Officer (research-admin@aims.ac.za).
