Hello Viking Family and Happy 2024!

We have finally reached the end of the first semester.  January 11th will be the last day of semester one, and semester two starts January 15th.  Remember, if you are taking IWCC classes, they begin January 8th.  Make sure you have logged on and read your syllabus for your courses, and worked out a study schedule as well.  Communication with your professors is key if you are struggling!  Also, don't wait for technical issues to heal themselves. (Pro tip:  they never do!) Reach out for help sooner rather than later.  

Seniors and parents, the FAFSA is (somewhat) open and available.  It's opening and then closing as they work out issues, so I recommend starting it.  Remember, February 1st is the priority deadline for the 3 Iowa universities; don't miss out on any scholarship opportunities.  I'm also updating the school counseling scholarship website as I get updated applications.  Please keep checking back.

8th-11th grade, we will start talking about course registration for the 2024-2025 school year soon!  Start thinking about what courses will help you move toward future goals and plans, and will continue to build your brain.

January and February can seem kind of long as we head into the thick of winter.  Remember, that success doesn't come from what you occasionally do, but comes from what you consistently do.  Stay focused and the days will get warmer and sunnier (literally and figuratively).

Be kind to each other.  Give the people you love an extra hug.  Do your best.
