This video shows how neuroscientists are able to tap into what people are thinking based on fMRI brain scans. Very cool, but also a little scary.
This is an amazing video about the power of the brain to "rewire" itself. It profiles a young girl with severe epilepsy that has an entire hemisphere of her brain surgically removed. But her brain manages to adjust and she lives a pretty normal life.
Below is a link to a clip from the series "Scientific American: Frontiers" with Alan Alda that examines the story of Phineas Gage. It focuses on the importance of the frontal lobe and also briefly discusses the debunked "science" of phrenology.
The video link below is the clip we watched in class with the dramatic re-enactment of Phineas Gage's accident from the classic video series "The Brain."

The homepage for the ASCH can be found athttp://asch.net/ with the article for the general public at http://asch.net/genpubinfo.htm.

Here are a few versions of the so-called mosquito tone. Have your parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles/siblings/etc. listen to it to find out who can hear it and who can't. Each one gets a little tougher to hear. Most of you probably won't be able to hear the last one (although your dog might be able to).
This is the website with a collection of songs that supposedly have hidden messages if you play them backward. See how many you can get before you look at the reverse lyrics.
