Classroom Options

Anoka Hennepin School District offers three for options to take Driver Education class and Behind The Wheel

Classroom Options

Option 1:

  • Students take Driver Education class during the school day. This is the most inexpensive and convenient option. In this one trimester class, the student will receive 1/2 credit toward graduation that will be considered an elective credit. The classroom is free to the students, but students must pay for behind the wheel in order to receive a permit. The fee for behind the wheel is $185. All scheduling for this option is done while registering for their other courses at the high school the student is attending. Students will then have the option to take behind the wheel with Anoka Hennepin. All registration for behind the wheel will take in class.

Option 2:

  • Students take the classroom after school. These classes are offered at Anoka, Blaine and Champlin Park High Schools. Specific dates at each are located in the after school tab. The fee for the after school class is $65. Scheduling for these classes takes place at the high school the student is attending. Have the student listen to the announcements to get the information. The counselors to NOT schedule the after school classes. Students will then have the option to take behind the wheel with Anoka Hennepin. All registration for behind the wheel will take in class. The fee for behind the wheel is $185.

Option 3:

  • Students take the summer school class, which takes place in June. These classes are offered at Anoka, Andover, Blaine, Champlin-Park, and Coon Rapids High School. The fee for summer school class is $65. Scheduling for these classes takes place at the high school the student is attending. Have the student listen to the announcements to get the information. The counselors to NOT schedule the after school classes. Students will then have the option to take behind the wheel with Anoka Hennepin. All registration for behind the wheel will take in class. The fee for behind the wheel is $185.
