Scholastic Art Awards

 Congratulations to junior Lina Song and 8th grader Vincent Villaquiran Vargas! Both students earned Gold Medals at the national level: Lina for her oil painting, and Vincent for his ceramic sculpture. In addition, Lina Song's painting received an American Visions Medal, a prestigious honor only awarded to one nominee per geographic region.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, presented by the nonprofit Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, received over 310,000 entries this year, and these students' art was recognized as among the best of the best. As part of this recognition, medalists are invited to the Awards Week in New York City and the National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall.
