Tim heard about someone having a pink ice melter manufactured for Breast Cancer Awareness. Around this time, the hearts of many in our community were breaking for the Carr Family, whose youngest son, Chad, was battling a brain tumor known as Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Giloma (DIPG). The ChadTough Foundation had already been organized and it was well known that Chad's favorite color was orange. In the summer of 2016 Tim got in touch with Kenney Outdoor Solutions, the distributor we purchase the majority of our sidewalk salt from, to discuss the idea of an orange dyed sidewalk salt to benefit The ChadTough Foundation. Kenney Outdoor Solutions worked with Spring Valley USA, a salt manufacturer, and The Toughest Ice Melter was available for purchase in late 2017. The 2017-2018 Snow Season raised $5310.00 for The ChadTough Foundation through sales of The Toughest Ice Melter. A&H is proud to paint our properties orange every winter!
