NCAT ACE Bootcamp December 2023

Date: December 18th-21st, 2023. Time: 8:30am-5:00pm

Under the guidance of Dr. Aixi Zhou, PhD, PE and NCAT Team, the ACE Bootcamp illuminated the path to a promising future for a diverse group of participants. This intensive four-day event, split into two engaging parts, not only introduced them to the world of machining but also left an indelible mark on their journey towards becoming skilled professionals.

The ACE Online Training initiative kicked off the event, reaching out to 130 enthusiastic individuals from various backgrounds through social media channels. This widespread online presence introduced participants to the ACE program's mission to revive the machining workforce in the United States. As they explored the ACE Online Training offerings, they began to understand the pivotal role this program plays in reshaping their career trajectories.

Ten exceptional individuals, representing diverse academic majors, professions, and organizations, gathered for the ACE Bootcamp. These participants were not part of the university's standard curriculum; rather, they were drawn by the compelling vision of ACE.

NCAT ACE Bootcamp October-November 2023

From October 11th to November 15th, 2023, ACE (America's Cutting Edge) embarked on a transformative journey with the ACE Online Training Program. This exciting initiative introduced the power of CNC machining and advanced manufacturing to a broad audience. Under the leading of Dr. Aixi Zhou, PhD, PE and NCAT Team, our online section reached a staggering 490 eager individuals, spreading the word about ACE's commitment to knowledge democratization.

In parallel, the ACE Bootcamp, conducted during the same period, saw remarkable achievements. Eleven outstanding students not only completed rigorous machining training but also embraced the spirit of precision and innovation. Their journey through the intricacies of machining showcased the promise of ACE – a promise to equip individuals with the skills to revitalize American manufacturing.

This dynamic blend of online engagement and hands-on training exemplifies ACE's dedication to empowering learners of all backgrounds. We're thrilled to have shared this remarkable experience with our participants and look forward to many more chapters of growth and success together.

NCAT ACE Online (ACC) November 2023

In November 2023, ACE Online reached new heights with a groundbreaking virtual training session hosted by the esteemed Dr. Aixi Zhou, PhD, PE and Alamance Community College (ACC). With a record-breaking attendance of 116 enthusiastic participants, this online training event captured the imagination of individuals across the nation. United by a shared vision to rejuvenate the machining workforce in the US, attendees were inspired by the profound mission of the ACE program.

Throughout the ACE Online session, participants immersed themselves in a wealth of knowledge and practical insights tailored to modern machining techniques. From CNC operations to advanced manufacturing principles, the online training provided a comprehensive learning experience accessible to all.

As the ACE Online badge becomes a symbol of expertise and dedication, participants emerge equipped with the skills and confidence to make a meaningful impact in their careers and beyond. With the success of this event, ACE reaffirms its commitment to shaping the future of manufacturing through accessible, innovative, and inspiring education.

Conference for Industry and Education Collaboration - CIEC 2023

Wondering if ACE will be available at your university? Hands-on, applied learning in machine tool technology is getting a lot of attention this week at the CIEC (Conference for Industry and Education Collaboration) in Charleston, SC. Machining opportunities are making their way into classrooms, maker spaces, and industry training programs in OH, GA, AL, PA-- just to name a few.

Joannie Harmon and Lucinda Curry are collaborating with several partners there--North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Texas A&M University, and University of Tennessee, Knoxville--and are looking for new schools ready to hop on board the ACE train. It was great seeing you, Aixi Zhou, PhD, PE, Triet Phan, MBA, CPA, Joannie Harmon, and Lucinda Curry.
