What is Marriage Mentoring?
With years of experience in working with churches and pastors, FamilyLife has recognized a common gap in marriage ministry. Many churches offer both pre-marital counselling and crisis intervention, but little is offered for those in between who could use encouragement, wise input and practical help. That’s where marriage mentoring comes in!
The Marriage Mentoring experience starts when a more experienced married couple meets with a younger married couple and they talk about their lives and specifically about different aspects of marriage. It's not a Bible Study. It's not a marriage course. It's not therapy nor counseling.
It's simply a time to connect over coffee or a meal with a particular focus for each visit, once a month for a year.
The Marriage Mentoring material is simply a series of questions to help facilitate and guide the conversation. There are no right nor wrong answers. The goal is to connect with each other and create an ongoing space for listening and sharing.
What is the Marriage Mentor TRAINING about?
The four-hour Marriage Mentor Training (See Workshop Outline), will prepare couples to mentor a younger couple, meeting once a month for approximately a year.
