The Benefits of Marriage Mentoring
Just as a mentor or discipler can make all the difference in the life of an individual, so too marriage mentors can support, sustain and guide us when we encounter challenges and unexpected difficulties. They share their mistakes and lessons learned and they laugh with us and celebrate with us in moments of joy and happiness.
Often times, those who were originally Marriage Mentoring "mentees" later choose to give back by becoming marriage mentors themselves.
Every marriage has something to give.
Listen to some of the testimonies of couples who benefitted from the Marriage Mentoring Initiative.
Mentor couples expand a church’s marriage intervention, especially with younger marriages. Stronger couples become stronger parents and create healthier families, strengthening the overall church community.
Pastors no longer carry the entire responsibility of marriage intervention within the congregation. Marriage mentoring empowers church members to do marriage ministry themselves.
A mentor couple grows spiritually and deepens their own relationship as they review marriage principles and see God use their story to strengthen another marriage.
FAQs about Marriage Mentor Training
If you have a healthy marriage and a desire to invest in younger couples, then your life experience alone already qualifies you to mentor. You don't need a perfect marriage, just the willingness to share your story with another couple, listen to them, and encourage them to talk to each other. Mentoring isn't marriage counseling or therapy; you don't have to have all the answers.
