The link you will need to join a scheduled Zoom meeting should be included in the calendar invite. If you can't find it, ask for the link from the person who scheduled the meeting.
The menu bar shown below will be displayed at the bottom of your Zoom meeting. Below is a description of each item:
1. Unmute: This allows you to mute and unmute your microphone. The caret to the right brings up a menu where you can change your microphone, speakers, and several audio settings.
Note: It is best practice to keep your microphone muted until you are ready to speak, this cuts down on background noise during the meeting. If you would like to temporarily unmute to speak you can hold down the space bar to speak, then let go when you are done speaking
2. Start/Stop Video: This button controls your camera if you choose to enable it.
3. Invite: This allows you to add other people to the meeting
4. Manage Participants: This will bring up a list to the right of the meeting with all the participants in the meeting. In this list hosts can mute and unmute all participants, and lock the meeting so no more users can join - even if they have the meeting ID and password.
5. Polls: Hosts can add questions with several answer options for participation.
6. Share Screen: This allows hosts to share their screen with all participants. Once selected, hosts and users can select which screen they would like to share. Screen 1 is the primary monitor being used. Hosts can also share a Whiteboard that participants can write and draw on for collaboration.
Note: The caret to the right of Share Screen gives hosts options for who can share their screen.
7. Chat: This brings up a chatroom that all participants can utilize. This is useful for sharing links and notes. You can also send direct messages for 1:1 communication between different participants. You can also share files up to 512MB in size to participants.
8. Record: This enables hosts to record meetings locally to their device or to the cloud. Participants are also able to record locally to their device.
9. Leave Meeting: This closes your connection to the meeting if the host does not terminate the scheduled meeting.
