Oracy 


We aim to provide the children with a systematic and explicit approach to learning vocabulary that is oral-based, providing them with a myriad of opportunities for deliberate practice.  In doing so we aim to challenge their thinking and improve critical thinking skills whilst learning tier 2 vocabulary.


Our approach involves daily basic skills lessons following a two week cycle which ‘flows’ through hook, direct instruction, word-learning strategies, language-rich experiences and metacognition.


Oracy skills will also be taught across the curriculum e.g talk like an artist, historian etc.
