Goodbyes! :(
Throughout the SU there will be a Cozy Corner where you can find different board games, coloring books/sheets, and books to read! It's a perfect place to chill if you have free time and don't know what to do, wanna hang out with new friends, or just take time for yourself.
Here are some highlights of the activities we will be doing.
The Taevaskoda outcrops on the banks of the ancient valley of the Ahja River are one of the most frequently visited sites in southern Estonia. The sandstone outcrops and the ancient river form the most beautiful part of the Ahja River Landscape Reserve. Legends speak of caves, secret passageways and of demons and a mermaid with a golden comb...
Emajõe Aed 2.0 is a permaculture community garden created and maintained by MTÜ Majakas (a non-profit organisation) in cooperation with Tartu city government. The aim of the garden is to add to city biodiversity and introduce permaculture and the possibilities of urban gardening to people.
We will be also making pizza there!
The most important thing when going to the sauna is the steam, which stimulates sweating. Estonians have a word for this: leil, which means "the steam generated by pouring water onto hot rocks in a sauna." Leil has many benefits for those in need. But more about that during WS...
Some workshops have been built up as guided discussions, which allows getting to know your peers on a deeper level and also share and learn about our differences on Solarpunk-themed topics.
Estonia has a very strong folk dance tradition so you will also be learning a few dances to get a taste of that.
Viimne Reliikvia - is a 1969 Estonian-language Soviet film based on a historical novel. The film became extremely popular, and some critics consider it the only Estonian cult film. Some of it is filmed at Taevaskoda which we will visit during SU.
November - the film takes place in a pagan Estonian village where werewolves, plague, and spirits roam around. It's everything you need to know about KRATT.
And don't worry both films have English subtitles and one has a traditional drinking game.
You will take part of an Estonian wedding with a fun spin. There will be a big ceremony, fun wedding games, and traditional Estonian food.
Venturing the trails up in the trees on a beautiful Pirita beach, you’ll discover yourself and your company in exhilarating situations! Pirita Adventure Park has a total of 6 levels (with 7 different trails). From the Beach Trail, there is a wonderful view to the sea and to the old town towers.
