The group conducted a series of meetings with key stakeholders, including the Municipal Mayor Engr. Michael Piodena and Vice Mayor Reina Grace P. Vista, the Municipal Health Officer Dr. Gabby R. Batuigas, and the respective program coordinators in the RHU.
The team went beyond RT Lim borders and reached out to the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Ulysses Silorio, and Congresswoman Dr. Marly Hofer-Hasim. These engagements were held to formally present the group’s vision, planned initiatives, and long-term goals for improving community health.
Through these meetings, the group sought to secure support in various forms—policy backing, technical guidance, resource mobilization, and strengthened coordination—to help bring the proposed health initiatives to life. The discussions highlighted the importance of multi-level collaboration in addressing pressing health concerns and reaffirmed a shared commitment to working together for sustainable, community-driven impact. These partnerships lay a strong foundation for turning plans into action and ensuring that health programs reach those who need them most.
On January 12, 2026, Team Katipunan, under the Municipal Health Office, led the flag-raising ceremony of the LGU - Municipality of RT Lim. The team had the opportunity to work alongside the rural health unit team to not only lead the assembly but to also deliver a birthday tribute to our belover Municipal Mayor, Engr. Michael Piodena.
Leading the municipal-wide general assembly gave the group a valuable opportunity to reintroduce ourselves in a meaningful way and renew our commitment to the community. It wasn’t just an event — it was the start of a fresh journey together.
Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity is a nationwide public health initiative aimed at protecting children from two highly contagious but preventable diseases. On January 21, 2026, Team Katipunan extended its help to address gaps in immunization. Children aged 6 to 59 months were given supplemental immunizations and Vitamin A to support their overall health.
Health workers, barangay officials, parents, and community volunteers worked hand-in-hand to inform, mobilize, and act. Together, these collective actions brought us one step closer to healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.
The house-to-house blood pressure monitoring activity served as a follow-up initiative for residents who were previously identified with elevated blood pressure readings. Building on earlier assessments, the group returned to households to recheck blood pressure levels, monitor progress, and identify individuals who may need further medical attention or continued guidance.
This follow-up approach emphasized continuity of care and showed the community that health monitoring is not a one-time activity, but an ongoing partnership. By checking in on residents, providing reminders on healthy lifestyle practices, and encouraging timely consultation when needed, the activity helped reinforce awareness, accountability, and shared responsibility in managing hypertension at the community level.
On January 23, 2026, a barangay assembly was conducted to formally present the group’s planned health initiatives addressing hypertension, tuberculosis (TB), and HIV. The activity provided a platform to openly share program goals, proposed interventions, and expected outcomes with barangay officials, health workers, and community members.
Through this assembly, residents were given the opportunity to understand the health priorities of the barangay, ask questions, and share insights based on their lived experiences. The discussion fostered transparency, collaboration, and shared ownership of the programs, ensuring that the planned initiatives are responsive to the community’s needs and aligned with local health concerns. This collective planning marked an important step toward sustained, community-driven action for improved health outcomes in the barangay.
