Hello and welcome to Week 3! This week we are focussing on Credit. Credit is necessary for most of us in our personal finances but a lack of understanding of how credit works can lead to a lifetime of paying off debts. This week will focus on credit basics looking at credit cards, credit protection, and credit scores. Next week we'll look at mortgages and auto loans. If you have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to reach out during my posted office hours. I have attached the link to my website with the hours posted if you need anything. All Assignments Posted in Google Classroom

Prior to the extended Spring Break, we began exploring some of the differences between savings and investing. This week we are going to further our understanding of savings by exploring the "why" and the "how" to save. Since this is a shorter week, your work load will be relatively minimal and is intended to familiarize you with the process of remote learning while covering a small amount of course content.

For this week please complete the following:

  • Review posted materials including Google Slides, videos, and relevant articles

  • Complete the Savings Account Comparison Assignment and be sure to submit it to Google Classroom

  • Participate in the Classroom Discussion by reading the posted article and answering questions

  • Complete the Savings Quiz

WELCOME!

Hello and welcome to Week 1 of remote learning. It feels like ages ago you were all in class preparing breakfast burritos! I hope this finds you all healthy and perhaps able to enjoy some aspect of the extra time with your family. For me, in the midst of this financial crisis, picking up our unit on financial literacy takes on a whole new meaning but I feel it is important so we are going to stay the course and return to where we left off before break. While the economy has drastically changed over the last two weeks we are going to focus on the basics of personal finance and work to become more knowledgeable in order to gain a better understanding of how the choices you make will influence your own personal economic situation.

Before getting started, please be sure to read the website HomePage to get an overview of remote learning, review office hours, grading, and attendance. Your weekly course content will be provided through Google Classroom. As we get started, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions. I will be responding to emails regularly but would also be happy to set up a Google Meets as needed.
