Overview of Remote Learning

As we transition into a remote learning format Mrs. McCloud's classes will run on a weekly basis from Monday (except the first week starts Wednesday, April 1) through Sunday. Classroom instruction will be delivered through the Google Classroom previously established for your course: Independent Living, Culinary Nutrition, or Early Childhood Education (email me if you do not have your Google Classroom Code).

At the beginning of each week (Monday) you should check the homepage for your class to determine what you need to complete by Sunday at midnight. In a typical week you will be asked to review posted Google slides; complete assigned readings in order to participate in a classroom discussion; complete homework assignments/worksheets; and complete a weekly progress quiz.

Depending on the duration and extent of remote learning, some classes may be required to complete tests or projects in addition to weekly assignments. These assignments will be noted in the weekly announcements.

Office hours

Mrs. McCloud will be available for office hours during the following times.

Monday - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Tuesday - 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Wednesday - 8:30 am - 10:30 am

Thursday - 1:15 pm - 3:00 pm

Friday - 7:15 am - 8:00 am

During office hours I will be checking and responding to email. In addition, I will be available to video chat through Google Meets if needed/requested. While the above times are designated office hours I will be responding to emails periodically throughout the day.

Attendance

Attendance will be based on weekly participation in coursework. If the student is interacting with available course material and able to successfully demonstrate their participation by Friday then the student will be marked as present for the week.
