My name is Emma Roedel, and I am a senior at Legacy High School, on track to graduate in 2026. I am currently enrolled in a stem-based program at Legacy called L2K, and I love to learn about new ideas and topics. I decided to join L2K to expand my knowledge and saw it as an opportunity to grow and build my public speaking and writing skills. I am a very outdoorsy person who loves to hike, travel, play sports, etc. I am a competitive soccer player who hopes to take my career in soccer very far. I have also found myself very interested in sports medicine and kinesiology fields as I have explored many career options throughout my years in L2K. My dream is to play college soccer and hopefully go into a kinesiology or physical therapy based field after I finish my education.
Artist Statement: My jewelry designs are inspired by the idea of turning everyday materials into something meaningful. I like creating pieces that express emotion through their shape, color, and texture. To me, jewelry is a form of personal expression. Its art that people can wear and connect with. I focus on the balance between simplicity and detail, making sure each piece feels complete but not overworked. The process of shaping, bending, and connecting materials helps me think creatively and patiently. Working with jewelry has taught me how small choices, like color, texture, or shape, can completely change a design. I want my work to feel personal and thoughtful, showing that art can come from both precision and imagination. Jewelry-making gives me a way to express myself while also creating something others can enjoy. Through my work, I hope to show appreciation for the detail and meaning behind handmade art. Each project challenges me to grow as both an artist and a person. I plan to keep exploring new ideas, materials, and techniques to continue developing my artistic skill.
