In Japan, the so-called “2024 problem” of capping driver working hours, combined with labor shortages and an aging workforce, is a major management challenge for the transportation and forwarding industry.
In the United States, the 1979 Three Mile Island nuclear power plant accident is recognized as a serious accident caused by human error. In a court case following the accident, it was pointed out that the employees in charge of operating the nuclear reactor were fatigued and their drowsiness led to operational errors.
Similarly, the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion (1986) and the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident (1986) are also known to have resulted from sleep deprivation and fatigue among the employees involved in the operations.
At workplaces where fatigue can lead to serious accidents, it is extremely important to proactively identify employee drowsiness and fatigue and implement countermeasures.
Based on its proprietary AI platform technology “SoLoMoN Technology” (Patent No. JP6302954), ad-dice provides AI solutions that capture and score “signs” of risk using various IoT data sources.
The new “Drowsiness Score” uses AI analysis of mental and physical fatigue based on vital data to score predictive signs of drowsiness. When the score rises, an alert is issued to notify both drivers and fleet managers.
Unlike conventional health management solutions that issue warnings only when actual data (e.g., vital signs) exceed a set threshold, ResQ AI distinguishes itself by using AI to score predicted risk and issue warnings when the score exceeds the set threshold.
By alerting drivers and crews to signs of drowsiness, ResQ AI helps ensure safe and secure transport, reducing the risk of drowsiness-related incidents that could lead to serious accidents.
