Lesson Breakdown
Private session: 1 student with coach
Small group: up to 6 players per session
Splash ball: up to 12 players per session (ages 5–11)
Junior training groups: up to 12 players per session (ages 12–18)
Requirement: All players must be able to swim at least 25m unaided.
Location
All sessions will be held at Governors Beach.
If sea conditions are not suitable, the lesson will be moved to another location with better conditions or rescheduled.
Private and small group sessions can also be held at your private pool (subject to coach approval).
Lesson Payments
All payments must be made in advance for the entire term.
Payments are due 7 days prior to the start of lessons. Failure to pay will result in forfeited space.
Payments must be made via bank transfer before commencing any sessions.
Lessons are not confirmed until payment is received.
A non-refundable deposit (equivalent to 3 sessions) is required for all new clients.
Deposits will be deducted from the termly fee. Deposits are non-refundable in the case of cancellations or no-shows.
Cash payments will only be accepted from existing clients and must be made at the end of the previous term.
All sessions must be completed during the booked term.
No transfers or refunds between terms.
Cancellation of Lessons
If given at least 24 hours’ notice, one make-up session will be offered per term.
Make-up sessions may be scheduled in another group on a different day, subject to availability in that group.
Without 24 hours’ notice, no make-up session will be given.
Group make-up sessions may differ in time and composition of players.
If a make-up session is booked and then cancelled, it will be forfeited.
Weather-related cancellations:
Lessons will be cancelled if conditions are unsafe (e.g., lightning, strong currents, rough surf, or water temperature below safe level).
The coach will make the cancellation decision at the lesson time.
If the coach cancels due to unsafe conditions or weather, the session will be rescheduled to a predetermined date set at the start of the term.
If the lesson has started and more than half is completed before weather changes, the session will be considered completed.
Beach & Equipment Conditions
Players must bring their own swimwear, towels, and water bottles.
Balls, goals, and water polo caps will be provided by the instructor.
Players are responsible for any damage to or loss of equipment provided by the instructor.
Sessions will only take place at designated safe beach areas.
If the beach is closed due to safety warnings (red flags, pollution alerts, etc.), lessons will be rescheduled.
Health & Safety
Parents/players must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries prior to participation.
Players participate at their own risk. The instructor is not liable for injury due to pre-existing conditions.
Coaches may provide basic first aid, but parents/guardians are responsible for any required medical treatment.
Code of Conduct
All players and parents are expected to behave respectfully and safely during lessons.
Inappropriate behavior, harassment, or unsafe actions may result in suspension or removal from sessions without refund.
Coaches reserve the right to enforce rules to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
Photography / Media Consent
Coaches may take photos or videos for training purposes or promotional use, including social media and advertising.
If you do not wish your child/player to be photographed or filmed, please inform the instructor in writing.
Liability Waiver
Water polo is a physical sport with inherent risks, including slips, falls, and water-related injuries.
By participating, players and parents acknowledge these risks and agree that the instructor is not responsible for accidents or injuries except in cases of direct negligence.
Communication
All schedule changes, cancellations, or urgent notifications will be communicated via email or WhatsApp.
It is the responsibility of parents/players to check messages regularly.
Termination Policy
The instructor reserves the right to terminate participation for behavioral or safety reasons.
No refunds will be given for early termination unless otherwise agreed in writing.
General
Each term will be a minimum of 10 weeks.
TERM 1: September – December | TERM 2: January – March | TERM 3: April – July
Coaching will continue throughout the year, including public holidays, unless otherwise notified.
Players may be reassigned between groups at the instructor’s discretion, based on age, skill level, or team balance.
