Action for Happiness Northamptonshire Hub (AfHNHub) is pleased to announce an important evolution in its leadership structure, marking an exciting new phase in the organisation’s development and long-term growth.
As part of this transition, Farzana Aldridge has been appointed as Volunteer Chair, while co-founder Dr David Smart takes on a reduced role following a distinguished 40-year NHS career dedicated to prevention and promoting positive mental health.
A community walk at Delapré Abbey on Tuesday 21 April brought people together to mark Active April, a national campaign from Action for Happiness that encourages
simple, everyday ways to move more. Delivered in partnership with West Northamptonshire Council and local organisations, the event highlighted the role of movement in supporting health and wellbeing.
The event showed how simple it can be to build activity into everyday life. People of all ages came together to enjoy the outdoors, demonstrating how small steps can support both physical health and mental wellbeing, while also helping people feel more connected.
A powerful new interactive art installation, Hands of Healing, has opened in the churchyard of St Peter and St Paul Church, Abington. Created through a unique partnership between Action for Happiness Northamptonshire and St Peter and St Paul Church, the project celebrates community outreach, highlights local mental health heritage, and offers a welcoming space for reflection and hope.
