Ira B Jones Elementary Global Scholars Magnet Theme:

Students will learn the value of their connection to the world and how they can work to improve it through project-based learning, service learning, 21st century skills, Paideia and the celebration of the World's People and Cultures.

We are excited about the rebranding of our magnet theme and the role we will play in supporting the integration of our theme into all areas of our school through working with global scholars teacher & committee to build a school wide thematic plan, aligning makerspace activities to science, ELA and math curriculum to support teachers and designing monthy makerspace skills and challenges.

In the Media Center we will focus on deliberate collection development strategies to improve the overall usefulness and appeal of the library collection. We will specifically focus on nonfiction areas that show significant numbers of aged titles, with an eye to aligning the collection with science and social studies standards and supporting the Wit and Wisdom ELA curriculum.
